International Women's Contact Amsterdam brings together women from around the world who are living — or have lived — in an international environment. We're an English-speaking, volunteer-run, non-profit social club with nearly 200 members representing 38 countries. Whether you're new to Amsterdam, have been here for years, or are returning to the Netherlands after living abroad, IWC is a place to meet interesting women, try something new, explore Amsterdam and beyond, and build friendships along the way.
To join, complete and submit the application form on our Apply Now page; our Membership Officer will review it and email you further instructions. Annual membership is €120, plus a one-time €15 registration fee for new members.
There's Always Something Happening
One of the best things about IWC is the variety. Our members have different backgrounds, ages, and interests, and our calendar reflects that.
You might join a book club, writing or craft group, play pickleball, take a yoga class, head to an exhibition or museum, meet for coffee or drinks, go walking, catch a film, enjoy dinner together, take part in a cultural outing, or join one of our small-group trips in the Netherlands or abroad.
We come together for Monthly Meetings and guest speakers from September through May, and most of our interest groups and activities continue all year long — summer often brings spontaneous pop-up events too, so even when Monthly Meetings take a summer break, there's still plenty happening.
While IWC is an organization designed for and run by women, there are also several activities and special events throughout the year where partners and families are warmly encouraged to join in.
With so much to choose from, you can participate as much — or as little — as you like.
A Club That's About Connection — Not Obligation
IWC is a nonprofit organization run by volunteers for our members. We're here to bring women together, not to make money from them.
When an activity involves an additional cost — such as a museum ticket, admission fee, tour, or special event — the amount members pay reflects the actual cost of participating. IWC does not add a commercial markup or profit from these activities.
And because we're a noncommercial organization, IWC offers a refreshingly sales-pitch-free environment. You can come to an activity simply to enjoy yourself, meet new people, and have a good time—no strings attached.
We operate entirely free of political, religious, spiritual, and commercial affiliations. Members are also not required to participate in charitable activities or fundraising.
Quite simply, you choose what you want to do. Join the groups that interest you. Come to the events you enjoy. Try something new — or stick with your favorites. Be very active or just join us occasionally.
Your IWC experience is yours to make your own.
Come Meet Us
Thinking about joining? You don't have to make up your mind before getting to know us.
Our Coffee Morning, held on the third Thursday of each month from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., is open to new and prospective members. It's a relaxed way to meet our friendly members, ask questions, and discover more about IWC.
Prospective members may also participate in one of our Monthly Meetings and up to two IWC activities before joining, such as Walking Talking, Dinner Group, or Thirsty Thursday, depending on availability.
All IWC lectures, tours, and activities are conducted in English, the official language of the club.
Our Monthly Meetings
From September through May, our Monthly Meetings are held at the historic Koninklijke Industrieele Groote Club (KIGC), Dam 27, in the heart of Amsterdam. Coffee is served beginning at 10:00, and the meeting starts at 10:30. Each month features an interesting guest speaker, along with a chance to catch up with friends and meet other members.
There are no regular Monthly Meetings during the summer, although many IWC groups and activities continue throughout the season, and summer pop-ups provide additional opportunities to get together. In December, we celebrate together with a special year-end festive brunch in place of our regular Monthly Meeting.
Guests are welcome to attend a Monthly Meeting for €10. If you decide to join IWC within three working days, your €10 guest fee will be credited toward your annual membership dues. Once you're a member, Monthly Meetings are included with your membership.

Who Can Join?
IWC Amsterdam welcomes women of all nationalities and backgrounds who enjoy connecting with an international community.
To preserve our international character, a few membership guidelines apply:

Women of all nationalities other than Dutch are welcome.

Women who hold only Dutch nationality are eligible to join if they have lived outside the Netherlands within the past five years.

Women who hold Dutch nationality alongside another nationality are welcome without the five-year requirement.
What unites us is our international outlook, our openness to new experiences, and the friendships we build along the way.

Ready to Join?
Our membership year runs from May 1 through April 30. For the 2026–2027 club year, annual membership is €120, plus a one-time €15 registration fee for new members, for a total first-year fee of €135. Membership fees are nonrefundable.
As a nonprofit organization, your membership dues directly support our club activities, monthly meetings, and the community we build together.
