with Dowland, Lorca, De Falla, Rodrigo, Granados
featuring Antje Lohse and Stefan Gerritsen
German mezzo-soprano Antje Lohse began her musical training at the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule in Düsseldorf and pursued her graduate studies with Margreet Honig at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, during which time she was also a member of the Nieuwe Opera Academie. In addition to her studies at the conservatory, she refined her skills in song interpretation at the Conservatoire de Metz in France with baritone Udo Reinemann. She has participated in master classes with renowned artists Elly Ameling, Sarah Walker, Ann Murray, Maarten Koningsberger, Rudolf Jansen and Jard van Nes. She has performed as a vocal soloist with the Orchestra of the East, the North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, with chamber ensembles of the Dutch Philharmonic and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Asko/Schönberg, Nieuw Ensemble, Nieuw Amsterdams Peil.
Stefan Gerritsen is an established artist in the Netherlands. He graduated from the Conservatory of Amsterdam - first and second phase cum laude, having studied with Lex Eisenhardt. He continued his studies with the Canadian guitar virtuoso Laura Young and received a scholarship to study with Alex Garrobé in Barcelona. Besides the classical guitar Mr. Gerritsen also plays on 31-tone guitar, which is very close to mean-tone tuning and for this reason very suitable for music written by composers such as Dowland, Sweelinck and Weiss. He has been invited to record a disc on this instrument for Turtle records.
