The IWC Amsterdam is run by members, for members and team work plays a very important role.
Executive Board: Members of the board are elected by members at the AGM. In a nutshell, they work together to provide the best possible overall experiences and opportunities for you to meet and socialize with women from all over the world, while also exploring and enjoying The Netherlands.
Interest Group Leaders: Volunteers who organize various activities, often generously hosted in their own homes. A list and schedule of these can be found in each newsletter and on our website.
The Charity Team: A group of dedicated ladies who plan enjoyable social events throughout the year to raise funds for the charity selected by members at our AGM every two years.
The Multimedia Team: A group of volunteers who maintain our website, Facebook and YouTube accounts. They produce the Membership Directory and a bi-monthly IWC Newlsetter. A video is usually produced each year, highlighting some of the year's activities. This is shown at our Annual General Meeting and can be found on our YouTube channel via our website.
The Welcoming Committee: These ladies wear blue sashes at our monthly meetings at the Koninklijke Industrieele Groote Club and are there to greet and introduce new members and guests and make them feel at home. In our Membership Directory there's a listing showing the various country representatives. They are happy to give a helping hand and advice to members new to Amsterdam.
In addition to our regular monthly meetings, there are several social and
special interest groups that offer stimulating and enjoyable events, adding an important part and a more personal dimension to club life with the IWC. These groups not only provide an opportunity for you to meet new friends with shared interests, but often help you to further develop those interests and talents, or even discover a talent you didn't know you had! In addition, if you have a skill, hobby or work experience that you would like to showcase and pass on, you are encouraged to start a new group. We are always open to any ideas that will enrich our club life and offer the multi-cultural diversity that is the essence of the IWC.
We do ask our members and their guests to bear in mind that the IWC is not a commercial club. Our activities are intended solely for our members to get together and enjoy various cultural and social events. Social interaction goes a long way in helping to settle in a new country, and we are here to offer friendship and help each other enjoy all that The Netherlands has to offer.
Every two years, IWC Amsterdam members select a charity as ongoing recipients of our volunteer and fundraising efforts. They are chosen on the basis of administrative efficiency and their commitment to women and children.
Every nationality is welcome to join our club and the official language is English. The International Women's Contact Amsterdam has no political, religious, spiritual or commercial affiliations.
The IWC recognizes the importance of communication and easy access to information about our club. For this reason, we maintain a website and are active on social media through our public
Facebook page and our Members Only Facebook Group.
